As we drove in our car north of Donegal Bay
Driving up past Dungloe and Gweedore
We could not but reflect on the beautiful day
And in truth both our spirits did soar.
The path traced the top
Of a ninety foot drop
And the ocean lay glorious below
When an automobile
With abandon and zeal
Barreled toward us, and fast, don't you know!

The sweetest roads I know
Though we drove at a creep
We knocked off three sheep
On my wide Irish roads...

I really liked them loads
We tried not to hog
But we just missed a dog
When we drove on those wide Irish roads.
Well we fastened our seat belts and tried out a prayer
As we pulled as far left as could go
When the car barreled past us with nary a care
You could feel the cliff tremble below.
As we cautiously crawled the car sputtered and stalled
As we forward resumed at a creep
But we hadn't gone far when our poor little car
Was surrounded by hundreds of sheep.

The sweetest roads I know
That hog sure looked good
When it bounced off the hood
On my wide Irish roads...

Are filled with sheep and goats
We started a row
Drove under a cow
And had milk on my wide Irish roads.
Now the scenery was lovely beyond our belief
And the ocean below us was vast
But we both heaved a monstrous sigh of relief
When we pulled on the highway at last
My heart is still there with the crystal sea air
And the sun setting o'er Tory sound,
But I don't want to drive
I liked being alive
On that grand two-lane highway we found.

I count cows and sheep

I’ll tell you a story of mowing made hard
By rain that’s been poring all over my yard.
I got on my tractor to cut down the grass
It got stuck when it sank in that muddy morass.
Grass will grow high and the water will flood
My trusty law tractor sank deep in the mud
The floodplain had risen, the grass and weeds growing
My lawn tractor sank Larry Curly and Mowing.
The mud sucked my shoe off, but still full of hope
I pulled my car over, and tied on a rope.
The wheels began turning, but what a mistake
My car was stuck spewing a long muddy wake
Grass will grow high and the water will flood
My trusty law tractor sank deep in the mud
The floodplain had risen, the grass and weeds growing
My lawn tractor sank Larry Curly and Mowing.
I called Triple A and they sent out a truck
He pulled out my car from the mud and the muck
Then he pulled the lawn tractor out from the morass
And left me to ponder the tall weedy grass
Grass will grow high and water is flowing
My trusty law tractor it really needs towing
The floodplain had risen, the grass and weeds growing
My lawn tractor sank Larry Curly and Mowing.

Some say that angels don’t exist
But when I’m laid to rest
If I could have an angel’s job
I’ll know that I’ve been blessed
For when I die I want a job
So I had this idea
I’d learn to fly and play the harp
In that celestial sphere
I could have learned just for enjoyment
Harp and how to fly
But I want guaranteed employment

My resume to tell there
I know they’ll let me have the job
I know I will do well there
I’ll pluck my strings while soaring on
My cloud so fluffy soft
Maintaining lift and altitude

Are pilot and musician
